Today as I was preparing for my sharing time lesson I came across this video. I just started crying. At this moment I just knew that at this point in my life I am extremely happy with my life. I love my calling in the Primary and the joy that it has brought to my life and to the life of my family. This song was the theme for the year in the Primary. I just love the innocence of children and how they are like little sponges trying to take it all in. I just thought that I would share this video with you and hope that it brings the piece and comfort that it has brought to me today.

Halloween Fun

Well we had a great Halloween here in Parowan. First we had our ward Trunk r Treat which turned out to be a blast! It was alot of work putting it together but it was so worth it and it turned out just great. I am so blessed to be with some amazing ladies in the Primary.

Well I couldn't find my camera so I have no pictures with the kids in there costumes, but just to assure you I did find it the next day in a bag of the boy's dirty clothes from grandma's house. Have no idea on how it got there. But that has just been my luck lately. Ha Ha.
So you will have to imagine these awesome costumes. Mckenzie was a devil (and a cute one at that), Kayson was something scary. He really didn't know what he wanted to be so he put on an old costume from the year or two before and then we painted his face scary( I told him that he was a scary clown but he didn't like that), Austin was a vampire, Kennadi was a NICE witch. It was really funny because she doesn't like to be scared so every time someone would say "oh what a scary witch" she would say "I am NOT scary, I am a NICE witch. So stinkin cute. And then there was me and I dresses up like Curella De Ville. I just love Halloween. I think that it is my favorite holiday. Then Travis just dressed as himself.(original I know!)
After the ward Trunk r Treat the boys wanted MORE CANDY, like they needed it so we took them around with Travis' brother Justin and his wife Lisa and there 2 girls Lilly and Rylee. Lilly and Kennadi had a blast together. Running up to the houses and asking for candy. They had the time of there life. Mckenzie as always is just was to cool to hang out with her parents so she went with some friends for the rest of the night.
All in all we had a fabulous night. Just wish I had some pictures, but I guess there is always next year.

An Update At Last

Well I know that it has been a heck of a long time since I updated my blog.. And a friend of mine from work told me that if you dont update for so long then they will delete it!!!! Well as you can see I did not want that to happen so this is the reason for this post.

I dont even know were to start because alot has happened since the last time that I blogged.

To give the short run thru.

In November 2009 our family was sealed in the St. George Temple. It was a great day for our little family.

School has now started and we are back in the full swing of things again. Believe me I dont know how I do it with working full time and with all of kids activites.

Mckenzie is now in the 7th grade and goes over to the high school now. It was quiet overwhelming for the both of us at first and she seems to be doing just fine.. Its me that you have to worry about. Mckenzie is doing clogging again this year and does a really great job at it. We went on a curise in June of 2010 to the Mexican Riviera for a week where she got to dance on the ship. We took her grandma Val Topham and had just the 3 of us there. It was alot of fun!

Mckenzie is also doing soccer again this year(just by chance). You see, we missed soccer sign ups this year and the team that Kenzie is playing on just happened to have 2 girls quit the team and they asked her to play. So it is just by chance that she is playing this year. Her team is un deffeted and they are such cute girls.

Kayson is in the 5th grade in Mr Robinsons class. He is liking it just fine but tells me almost every day that he would rather be fishing with his Grandpa Sillitoe than rather going to school. He has enjoyed going fishing with Grandpa just as much as he can and trys to beat him every time that they go. And he did out fish him one time and belive me he does not let him forget about that one. Kayson is still in the boy scouts and has earned his wold and his bear and is now working on his Weblow.

Austin is in the 3rd grade and is in Mrs.Evans class. He enjoys school just as much as Kayson and wishes that it was still summmer so that he can sleep in, in the mornings. Austin was just baptized last saturday by his dad and was confirmed by his grandpa Sillitoe. It was a very special day for the entire family. He is now in boy scouts and is loving every minute of it.

And as for Kennadi she is a very busy 2 1/2 year old. She is in love with Little Mermaid and I think that we watch it at least 5-6 times a day (at least) Her latest craze is Dora and Barney (heaven help us). She is such a funny little girl and keeps her entire family laughing and laughing all day long. She likes go to the park and help the boys gather the eggs from the chickens when they get home form school.

Well there is a brief update on the family and hopefully soon I will find the cord to my camera so that I can download my pictures so that I can post them on here. Some of them are on facebook and you can look at them there the ones that I was able to get off the camera.

Hopefully it will not be like 7 months before I update again and I promise to do better. Lots of love to you all.....

I finally got my entire family together for a picture.. It is about dang time. I think that the last time that we got a picture taken was when I was either 12 or 13 or some where around that. It has all of my brothers and sisters and there kids. The only person who is missing is Brandon's little girl McKayla.

One morining we woke up and looked out the kitchen window and all of these turkeys were in our neighbors across the street from us. It was crazy, They must have liked what was in the tree or something. They stayed there for about a half hour or so untill the other neighbors dogs chased them away.

On November 28,2009 Our family got to go to them Temple. It was an amazing experience not only for Travis and I but for our 4 children. What a blessing it was to go as a family and to be sealed as a FAMILY forever. The feeling and the experience I will soon not forget. Thanks to all of the many family and friends that got to be there to share in this wonderful day for us. Words can not express my love for them. But how gratefull that Travis and I are for the wonderful family and friends that we have.

Just for my records I want to list the family and friends that were able to attend just so that with the short memory that I have that I will have this as a record.

After we came out of the temple my dad and brother were there to meet us and that ment the world to me to have them there with us as well.

Afterwords we had a dinner at our house where everyone came and ate. Those who came to the temple with us and also many family and friends that were not able to be at the temple came over as well and shared in the experience with us.

I have many more pictures that I want to post but my lovely little daughter did something to the memory card that I need to fix and then I will upload more pictures for you to see. Also thanks to Tammy and Bryan for taking many, many pictures at the Temple. That was kind of the last thing that I was thinking about at that time.

Well it looks like we are going to have a full house for Thanksgiving this year. It is our year to spend Thanksgiving in Parowan with Travis family and there will be about 40 people or so there. I know what you are thinking, where could we possible fit that many people in grandma Willies house? But we seem to manage and it is always fun. Well on November 28,2009 Travis and I are going thru the St. George Temple. We are extreamly excited to have our family sealed together. For many of you this has been a long time coming and I agree. Swine Flu

So just an update... As many of you have already heard Yes we have the swine flu at our house. Decided that the week before when Kayson and Austin were home sick that they probably had it first. They were only sick for a few days. It didn't hit them as hard. But Kennadi and I on the other hand have had it for almost a week now. Kennadi started with it last sunday with the fever then I got really sick on wednesday so Kennadi and I went to the doctor and I tested positive! It sucks. They say it goes for about 7 to 10 days to run its corse. Poor Kennadi has been miserable. Travis is starting to come down with it now, and hopefully he does not get it as bad. Lucky for kenzie she has been just fine. Well I'll keep you posted.

Oh what a little ANGEL!! NOT. Travis and I went to a meeting sunday afternoon and this is what we came home to! Apperntley she out smarted Kenzie, Kayson and Austin who were suppose to be watching her. When I saw what she had done she just smiled. Now how can you get mad at a face like that?

On friday I had the day off. So Kennadi and I went out to the garden while all of the other kids where at school to pick what we had left of the corn. She had a fun old time playing in the corn. Then she helped me carry all of the corn back into the house. She is such a little helper. In more ways then you know!!

Botteling Peaches!!!!

Well as you can see I have a new hobbie!! Holy crap who knew that canning could be fun. Well as you can see last saturday Travis and I started to bottle peaches. We got alot of them from our neighbor's down the street from us the Hunsakers. Then Aunt Nancy had a neighbor that wasn't going to pick there peaches so we went and picked alot of there peaches as well. I couldn't believe just how long it took us to do the peaches. We started right after we got home from Austin's soccer game which was about 12:30 or so. Then Travis mom and dad came over about 2:00 or 3:00 and helped. When we finally got done we had 105 quart bottles of peaches!! Holy crap that is alot. We also did about a case and a half of peach jam. If you have ever been over to my house my kitchen table was filled, the counter by the sink was full and so was the island. These pictures show most of the peaches that we bottled that day. It was crazy. My mother in law Val took some home to cook on her stove because she can do 4 pots at one time on her's. So we were cooking at both houses to get them done quicker. It still took us untill about 11:30 saturday night untill we finished. I think what was fun is to see my kids helping out. Expecially Kayson. Austin tried it for a little while and so did Kenzie. At least they tried it for awhile thats all I can ask for.

Well not to mention that the week before this we had done 60 bottles of peaches that my mother in law Val had. We also did about 40 or so quart bottles of tomatoes for my Brother in law Justin and his wife Lisa. You can say that we have been a bit busy at our house.

Some other things that I tried to bottle this year was carrots and beans that we got from our garden. Grandma Willie gave me her recipie for her Dilly Beans. So I tried to do them and they of course do not look as good as her's but hey at least I tried. I have yet to try them to see if they are any good.

I am wanting to still try to do pears if I can find anyone out there that has some and I also want to try and do some applesause.

Well if I do anything else exciting I will let you know, but this for now is all the excitement in our house.

Labor Day Fun

Well we made it thur it. The whole Labor Day fun!!! It all started for us on the Friday before Labor Day. Mckenzie was clogging at the tent down at the Iron County Fair building. She did great. Then on Saturday we took the kids to the Fair. We left at about 12:30 and did the rides. Kennadi went on one ride and then fell asleep for most of the day. But she had fun on that one ride that she went on. While I took Kennadi on a ride Travis and Mckenzie were going to go on the Zipper. So I left them there and the boys whent on another ride( cant remember which one). So when Kennadi got done I kept trying to look for Travis and Mckenzie on there ride and I couldnt find them. So by then Kayson and Austin had found me and we were walking around and low and behold there was Travis and Mckenzie on some spinnie ride and holy crap if I would have remembered my camera I would have had the best picture EVER!! Travis was pale white and looked like he was going to throw up and Mckenzie was all smiles. It was so dang funny. Needless to say that was his last ride for the rest of the day and probably the rest of his life. After all that fun Kenzie, Kayson and Austin talked me into going on the Scrambler. It was fun then Kayson really wanted to go on the zipper so I did that with him then turned right around and whent on it with Mckenzie. I am extreamly surprised that I did not get sick. We also saw Jason and Kris Slack there with there kids. We havent seen them for awhile and there kids are getting so big. It was good to see them again. After riding the rides we when down to the food court and had some lunch under the tent and then walked around in the fair building to see all of the stuff that the people in the fair. Mckenzie had some frineds that had entered into a contest that was called "Fair Factor" just like "Fear Factor" it was pretty funny and they took second place. It was pretty cool. Then after that we went home and it was about 5:30. I couldn't believe that we spent all day there. But it was nice to have a day as a family together. You just dont get many of them as the kids start to get involved with sports and friends.

Well we finally decided that we really needed to update our family picture. Since the last time that we had one done was before we got pregant with Kennadi. Yeah I know it has been forever. So for the last 2 years I have been telling Travis that we need to go up the mountian and take a picture of the family. Well... I got a new digital camera when we went on our trip to St. Maartin, so we took the tri-pod with the camera up Parowan canyon and took some pictures. The family one turned out really cute and I also took some of the kids and they turned out pretty cute too. It was actually pretty fun setting the timer and then running for your life before it goes off. I think that this might just turn out to be a family tradition. I Guess that we will have to see when I get them back and see how they really turned out.

It's hard this time of year to get family over to Parowan 2 weeks apart with the bow hunt this coming weekend and school starting the following week. Man do any of you think that this summer has just flown by or is it just me?? With the summer coming to an end and school starting up in about 2 weeks,time has just gone by way to fast. Kenzie just turned 11 years old yesterday and we did the "Friend" party today and had a blast. And she even let me go to the movie with her and hang out with her and her frineds at the ice cream shop. Dont think that I will have many more of those moments with her growing up and wanting to do things by themselfs. So I will take what I can get and just enjoy it while I still can. Austin in going to have a birthday in a couple of weeks and he will be turning 7. I can't belive how fast they grow up. This sunday we are goning to have a family birthday party with everyone for Austin and Mckenzie. And tomarrow I am going to ATTEMPT to take the kids school shopping by myself while Travis stays home and tends Kennadi.(Im not brave enough to take all 4 kids shopping all day, by myself). Well that is a little up date on what has been going on with our family.

This year for Mckenzie's friend birthday party I took 3 of her friends to the movies and we all saw "G-Force in 3D. Then we went to Maggie Moos for some ice cream. Well I would like to introduce you to our one and only Rooster! He is noisey and will wake you up at 3:30 in the morning with his loud voice. At first I thought "oh how cute is that rooster" Well not anymore. I have decided that sleep is much better and you all know that you dont wake me up or it may end badley. So Travis, Kayson and Austin decided that this last saturday would be that last "Chach a dodle do" that that little rooster would do. So on saturday morning they went out in our backyard and killed the rooster. It was the most disturbing thing that I have seen!! I really did try to up load the video that I took with my camera but I couldn't get it to work. So any of you who know more than me about blogging need to show me how to up load a stinken video on the blog. Anyway... As you may have guessed the rooster is no longer in our family. But boy did he taste good.......

Welcome to Sint Maarten!

Well Travis and I decided that this year we were going on a vacation without our children. And of course Travis had not problem with leaving the behind but me on the other hand it did take some convincing but I did it. Even though I missed them terriably it was good to get away for a little while and remember what it is to just enjoy the time with my husband alone for a change without any kids.

Well we left for St. Maarten on July 10th and returned home on July 17th 2009. We went with some frinds of ours Joe and Melinda Atkin and there 8 month old baby Sienna.

We had a lot of fun exploring the island. And just for your information we drove around the intire island in one day. It is not very big. Half of the island is owned by the French and the other half is owned by the Dutch. We stayed on the French side but drove all over the island. The beaches were amazing and so pretty it is hard to describe. I think that my favorite time was just walking down on the beach in the dark and listening to the sound of the waves crashing in the ocean. Travis and Joe did some snorkeling and they went on a fishing trip that they did not enjoy very much, mainley because they didn't catch a dang thing.(Guess I should have gone with them to show how it was done.) We found a few little places that were tucked away and ate some great food. Man do they have some good Chinnese Food. We also ate at this little place called The Jerk Grill and Bar. Holly cow was it hot. Travis said that it was so spicy for him that his lips were numb. Pretty funny. It was some really good food though. We just mainly took it easy. Getting up when we wanted to and going to bed when we wanted to. Its nice not to have anything planned and just taking it easy and slow. Melinda and I did alot of shopping. Well as much shopping as we could talk the guys into,but hey they were pretty good sports every where that we dragged them. Every place that we went the people were so nice. I wouldn't mind coming back to St Maarten some time and hey we may even just bring the kids, well see. Well even though it is good to finally be home and getting things back to normal it is sad that it is all over. On St Maartin everyone talks about how cool there beaches are and come to find out that almost all of the beaches on the island are clothing optional! One thing that I do not understand is that all of the people that we saw that did the clothing option theme was the people that should be wearing the clothes! It was pretty funny. Good thing we dont get to see that very often. Well anyway we had an awsome time and hopefully we get to go back some day.

The airport was right by where we were staying. It was cool because you could see the big airplanes coming in. It would look like it was going to run right into you then it turns and goes into the airport.

We saw this old fort up high on a hill. Not sure if it was destroyed by the hurrican or if it was really just that old. It was just cool so I took a picture of it.

This is such an awsome beach that we went to. I can not remember what they called it but you could actually walk across the water and go out to the little island and play on the sand and pick up hundreds and hundreds of sea shells. Travis and Joe did some snorkling as well. We came back to this place 2 or 3 times.

LAKE POWELL 2009

Just for you information I had over 300 picture that we took so when I get some more time I will post some more photos for you.

Well we all went to Lake Powell for vacation at the end of June and the first weed of July. We actually got to stay down there for the fireworks.
We all had a blast with swimming, fishing,tubing and skiing among alot of other things. I think that the highlight for most of us was hiking in the slot canyons. This was a first for all of us at Lake Powell and I think that it will now be a continued tradition for our family. We stayed at lake powell for a wapping 10 days. I think that it was the longest lake powell trip that we have done so far. The kids all had a really good time and they just love to see there cousins and hang out.

This picture is to show you just how narrow the canyon was that we went in. If you look really close you can see that all of us that went on that hike are at the end. This was the first slot canyon that we hiked thru. As you can see we had to go thru some water. You just can not even imagin the beautiful canyons and how high the rock really are untill you are at the bottom looking up.

2009 Miles Family Reunion @ Cherry Hill

Well as we do every year in June we go to the Miles Family Reunion. This year it was at Cherry Hill again. We all seem to love to go back and camp. The water park has always been fun along with the minuture golfing and the batting cages and the rock wall climb and Hampster haven. This year it was a little bit different. You are only going to see pictures that I took from the very first day that we were there which was on Friday afternoon. The reason is that on saturday and sunday all it did was rain and rain and rain. Holy crap I have not seen it rain that much in a long time and no time better when we are camping. Friday is when we went miniture golfing and the kids and everyone had a blast and on saturday night we took them along with there cousions to climb on the rock wall and play at Hampster Haven which is just like the play ground at McDonalds. I took Kayson and Austin along with Justin and Lisa and Lilly and Sydney and Jacy and we did attempt to go to the water park and swim. We only lasted maybe an hour and a half or so and we were so cold and wet because it was raining so hard. We did the lazy river a couple of times and then went on the tube ride then called it quites and went back to camp. Travis had this great idea that he would stay and have a nap with Kennadi and then bring her down later and I am glad that he didn't bring her because at first it wasn't raining and then when it started it just didn't stop and she would have been miserable out there in the rain. So either I had the kids in the car driving around trying to keep warm or in the tent in the sleeping bag trying to keep warm. Over all it could have been worse and the kids seemed to have a really good time visiting with there cousions that they don't get to see everyday.

Travis and I also celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary today. June 21st. Some days it seems alot longer than that. But hey we have 4 great kids to show for the many years of love and happness that we have had and look forward to spending many more years together.

Just wanted to give you an update on Mckenzie. This is the second year that she has been in clogging. Her team made it to Nationals this year and it was held at Lagoon(same as last year)anyways she did awsome. She is done with clogging untill August when school starts again. Right now she is playing girls softball. She doesnt like it much but all of her friends are playing so she did to. Then in August she is going to play soccer again. She likes to be busy,hey it may even keep her out of trouble who knows?? She is a great kid and we are very proud of her and all that she has accomplished this year. Way to go Kenz!!

Today is Memorial Day and also Great Grandma Willie's 86th Birthday. So the kids wanted to do something special for her so they made her a speacial birthday card with this picture on the front of it. I tried my hardest to get a closer picture of them all together but of course Kennadi would not have it. It seems like she is getting more of a personality day by day.

Well I had this great idea to go up to Cedar Mountian and stay the night at Grandma and Grandpa Slacks property. Keep in mind back in good ol Parowan the sun was shinning and it was a beautiful clear day. So anyway we are on our way and when we were about to Cedar City it starts to rain. I just looked at Trav and smiled. We we got up the mountian it was a little windy but no rain. So hey we both thought that we would get the tent up and get a fire going and everything will be good. WRONG. It started to rain and it rained and rained and rained. It just never stoped. So Travis' mom and dad followed us up to have dinner and with about 2 hours of getting the fire going we started the tin foil dinners and then ended up eating dinner in the suburban because it was just so wet and raining. But hey it tasted good anyway. So Grandma and Grandpa Slack ended up coming up for a minute or two and told us that if we wanted to stay the night that we could use there camp trailer. So we are so thankful to them because other wise we probably would have bagged the whole camping idea and just went home. But the trailer was much better than trying to set up the tent in the pouring down rain. Man I dont think that there is ever a time that I have been up there when it has rained that much. It was almost morining when the rain finally decided to stop. But we had a really fun trip to the mountian. Travis and I and the kids just really like getting out of town and the busy way of life that we all get suck in too.

This was Kennadi's first real year up at Grandpa Slacks mountian property. She did go last year but she was only about 6 months old or so and she couldn't really explore. She is a little princess. She got a little bit of mud on her sandles and watch out. She does not like to be dirty. Hopefully we can change that in the future and hopefully we can get up the mountian a little bit more this year now that the house is build and we are all moved in.

As for Austin he has been doing wrestling this year and is loving it. He wants to play soccer again this summer. He is doing awesome in school and is in the top of his class for Reading and Math.(go figure, he didnt get that from me he must have got that from his grandpa Sillitoe.

Mckenzie has been doing alot with Clogging. She is going to Richfield this weekend to a competition. And at the end of March she is going to St. George to another competition. She is doing so well and her dad and I are so proud of her and how far she has come. When I get some pictures I will post them. She also just signed up for girls softball for this summer. Looks like she is going to be keeping busy for awhile.
